for difference between it and the production car. But I never saw this one.
This is the CGT Concept next to the Porsche 718 Formula Two car. It looks to be a press shot but I’m not sure exactly why - I don’t think the two were really ever marketed together, and I’m not sure why this of all cars was chosen from the Porsche stable. Maybe it was an influence in the car’s design though it’s not something I’ve ever heard said.
To my eye there are some similarities between them, but probably that’s more coincidence and the matching colors than anything else. Which means they have about as much in common as
that other 718 that I won’t mention again
.
How beautiful is that CGT, eh? Imagine seeing it in 2000 and dreaming that maybe Porsche would build more of them. How lucky we are.

I wouldn’t say the front compartment blunt leading edge and similar corner radius is a coincidence, more of a carry through.
